As well as training elite athletes for the event itself, London needs thousands more skilled people to work in the Construction, Sports, Hospitality and Media sectors in time to host the Games. That’s why the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) are investing £7 million each year from now until 2012 to expand the range of Apprenticeships and other training programmes available. The 2012 Games is not just for one summer. By investing in the right skills now, we hope to help more people get the jobs they want for the future.
